Leigh has been an instructor in the ASOR department since 1998.  In addition to teaching undergraduate statistics and operations research courses, she also served as Assistant Director of the Statistical Consulting Center for several years.  Prior to her BGSU employment, she held the positions of Sample Team Leader and Sample Project Director at NFO Research, Inc.

In the classroom, Leigh’s goal is to create a positive, challenging environment in which students feel motivated to learn.  She feels that it is important that students be encouraged to take responsibility for their own learning and that they practice many skills that will enable them to become more independent thinkers.

Leigh enjoys a strong sense of purpose in teaching.  She is motivated by the importance of assisting students with building a solid foundation of problem-solving skills that they will use in future business courses as well as in their professional lives.  She is delighted when former students are excited to mention how concepts learned in class are applied on the job.

Some of her favorite activities outside of the classroom include consuming dark chocolate, traveling, playing soccer, and reading.  Her most recent travels took her to New Orleans over spring break where she enjoyed exploring a swamp, eating delicious seafood, and experiencing the rich history of the area.
