Students Get Workforce Ready by Learning Essential ‘Soft Skills’ Through Dean’s Workshops
The College of Business goes beyond business as usual to prepare students to be career-ready by offering two Dean’s Workshops during fall semester.
The Dean’s Guide to Practical Business Workshop is designed to prepare students for the working world and learn the “soft skills” employers are looking for in graduates. This workshop consists of six, two-hour workshops that cover professional etiquette, business dining, interviewing skills, networking, dressing for success, and business travel.
The Dean’s Golf Workshop prepares students to successfully participate in company golf outings where business networking is common. The five, two-hour sessions include learning to putt, drive, and swing, and it culminates with a golf scramble where students are teamed with employers and alumni at the Stone Ridge Golf Course, followed by a cookout.
