Program Overview:
The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration is a 122 credit hour program consisting of a solid business curriculum built on the foundations of a revised general education curriculum. Admission to the business program is selective and all business majors are required to go through business core classes. Beyond traditional business coursework are four three-credit hour courses that introduce and reinforce business knowledge through active program based learning opportunities. Beginning with BA 1500, first year students are engaged in professional development and exploring career opportunities. As a sophomore, BA 2030 focuses on effective business communication while BA 3500 allows juniors to delve further into ethical decision making, corporate social responsibility, and sustainability. As a senior, all the business knowledge culminates in BA 4500 to solve real business issues. In addition to the applied and business core, students will select one or more of 14 business specializations - accounting, applied economics, business analytics & intelligence, economics, finance, individualized business, information systems, information systems auditing & control, insurance, international business, management, marketing, sales & services marketing, and supply chain management.

Deployment of Assessment Measures:
The course-embedded measurement is used in maintaining the assurance of learning. Canvas course platform is used in collecting the data. This platform is widely used by the faculty in the College of Business and is required of all faculty engaged in collecting the data for assurance of learning wherever possible.
The Assurance of Learning Committee (AoLC) with a member representation from each of the departments is responsible for deploying the assessments, compiling data, discuss the findings and share the recommendation with the Undergraduate Curriculum & Learning Assessment Committee (UCLAC). For each of the learning goals, there will be a Learning Outcome Champion (LOC) who will work with the instructors and the director of assessment at the university level in extracting the data from Canvas.
Instructors in the core courses will assess the learning outcomes of the courses by using multiple choice, essay, or problems questions. They will use either the numerical score or rubrics in collecting the data. The LOC for this Goal will coordinate with the course instructors regarding the timing of assessment. The relevant questions/assignments for measuring this Goal will be developed by the course instructors.
