Community Arts Education Minor
The Community Arts Education minor focuses on integrating contemporary art and design, related scholarship, social justice theory, and pedagogical practices with the realm of community arts programs and institutions. Coursework will employ the strengths of BGSU's Art Education curriculum including field experience and service learning opportunities throughout Northwest Ohio and position students to respond to the needs of the community. Students in the minor will earn 15 credit hours and fulfill four areas of coursework: Foundations; the School of Art's Saturday Art program; a community-based internship; and, Entrepreneurship at the introductory level in the Schmidthorst College of Business or through the special topics course offered at the School of Art, Art Entrepreneurship.
