Nursing

104 Health and Human Services Building, 419-372-8242

The Nursing program offers the student an opportunity to become actively involved in health care as a professional nurse with a bachelor of science in nursing degree. The curriculum emphasizes a liberal education combined with the nursing theory and clinical practice needed to develop the educated nurse. A graduate of the nursing program is capable of providing health services for individuals, families, and communities and eligible to take the licensing examination to become a registered nurse. The program provides preparation for future graduate study and leadership in nursing.

Tuition for the nursing program is the same as for all other degree programs. Additional charges, however, are required for uniforms, professional liability insurance, specific health tests and immunizations, exit exams, convocation, lab and upper division professional course fees. For the RN/BSN track, classes are online, with advisors at BGSU Main Campus and BGSU Firelands. Transportation to classes and to clinical placements is the responsibility of the student.

The Nursing program offers several tracks to obtain a bachelor of science in nursing degree:

  1. BSN for students entering the nursing profession through the BGSU/University of Toledo Nursing Consortium;
  2. Online eCampus RN/BSN for students who are associated degree or diploma graduates and have current unencumbered license as a registered nurse;
  3. Dual degree option for a Bachelor of Applied Health Science and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing through the BGS/Mercy College.

Additional admission requirement information for each option is available from the College Office.
