Carl Braun is an Associate Teaching Professor and Program Coordinator for the School of Aviation.  As a pilot for 24 years in both commuter airline and corporate aviation and a Director of Operations of a FAA Part 135 charter operation, Carl has extensive experience in both flight operations and management. Current and former member on multiple college and university committees including Student Academic Affairs, College Academic Appeals Committee, University Fiscal Affairs Advisory Committee, University Undergraduate Council, College Undergraduate Program Committee, and CTAAE Co-op Committee.

Education

  • Master of Science in Technology Studies, Interdisciplinary Technology Eastern Michigan University, 2011. Thesis on Multimodal Roman Transportation Systems.
  • Bachelor of Science in Aviation Technology, Western Michigan University, 1991
  • Federal Aviation Administration Certifications: Airline Transport Pilot – Airplane, Multi-Engine, Instrument Airplane. 
  • Type Rated – Fokker 70/100, Gulfstream G-V, Dassault Falcon 2000, Raytheon Hawker HS-125.
  • Additional aircraft training and experience: Cessna Citation I, II, British Aerospace Jetstream 31, Piper Cheyenne III, Beechcraft King Air B-100/C-90, Douglas DC-3, Piper Navajo, and Cessna 300-400 series aircraft.
