Alan Atalah, Ph.D.
Alan Atalah, is a professor in the Construction Management program and has been involved in the construction industry since his graduation in 1982; most of this involvement was in water and wastewater projects. He has been involved in trenchless technology construction since 1987. He has made hundreds of trenchless technology and construction management presentations in many national conferences and educational seminars; the website http://scholarworks.bgsu.edu/construct_mgt_pub/ can provide access to some of these papers.
Alan teaches construction management courses such as Estimating and Bidding Strategy, Engineering Economics, Negotiations in the Engineering Environment, Contractual Disputes Avoidance and Resolution, and Trenchless Technology Construction.

- Construction Management, interests are in planning and scheduling, computer applications in construction, productivity improvement, resources management, temporary structures, construction equipment selection and planning, contract administration, claims analysis, cost estimating, financial management, and project feasibility.
- Geotechnical Engineering, interests are in soil mechanics, shoring structures, shallow and deep foundation design, and construction dewatering.
- Trenchless technology, interests are in tunneling, pipe jacking and microtunneling, pipe bursting, horizontal directional drilling, and pipeline rehabilitation.
