Graduating class includes 1,047 candidates

Bowling Green State University will celebrate its 296th graduation in two ceremonies at the Stroh Center Dec. 13 and Dec. 14. Alumnae addressing the candidates include Sheryl Maxfield ’81 and Laurie Stevenson ’88, who are both members of Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine’s Cabinet. The December graduating class includes 1,047 candidates.

Coletta recognized by the Friends of the Library
Dr. Charles Coletta received the Friends of the Library Award at the 2019 Authors and Artists Celebration. The Friends of the Library Award honors faculty, staff, students, community members or institutions that have substantially contributed to the growth and development of Bowling Green State University’s University Libraries. Coletta, a lecturer in the Department of Popular Culture and a longtime library supporter, was a co-chair and organizer for the 2019 “Batman in Popular Culture” conference, held in April at the Jerome Library.

Blessing named to Ohio Council on Family Relations advisory board
Stephanie Blessing, an assistant teaching professor and internship coordinator in the human development and family studies program of the College of Education and Human Development, has been named to the advisory board for the Ohio Council on Family Relations. The council is an organization for practitioners, academicians and students serving Ohio’s youth, individuals, couples and families. This work, done as an affiliate council of the National Council on Family Relations, includes research, education and practice.
