A Message from the President

It's summertime in Bowling Green! We miss our students, and we're hard at work preparing for the 2017-18 academic year as BGSU reopens University and Moseley Halls. The renovations are spectacular! Come and see the signature buildings that are the academic heart of campus.
Congratulations to Rachel Walny, who competed at the NCAA
Division I Outdoor Track and Field National Championships. She placed 18th
in the 10,000-meter race and earned
honorable mention All-American! For the first time in school history, four BGSU student-athletes
were named Academic All-Americans! Joe Davidson of football, Pat Flynn and Joe Sullivan of men's soccer, and Lauren Feely of gymnastics show us the importance of excelling inside and out of the classroom.
The Board of Trustees recently approved the name change of the College of Business Administration to the College of Business. This name better expresses its mission and does not limit its identity.
The Pittsburgh Penguins named
Steve Mears '02
as their TV play-by-play announcer! Mears called the NHL playoffs while the
Penguins became the 2017 NHL Stanley Cup Champions! His story reflects the
possibilities available to those with a BGSU education.
We are counting down the days until
Family Weekend
and Homecoming. The football
kickoff time for Homecoming has already been announced. Make plans to cheer
on our team at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 14! I hope you are able to
return home to celebrate with fellow Falcons. Until then, visit our
alumni
calendar
and attend events in your area this summer.
Tomorrow marks six full years that I have been president of Bowling Green
State University. Every day, I'm thankful and honored to serve this great
University because of people like you. There is always more work to be
done; join me in building BGSU's future!
Regards,
Mary Ellen Mazey, Ph.D.
