Summer is over, and our students are on campus for the fall semester!

We’ve welcomed 3,402 new students to the Falcon Family. Move-in was exciting, and these new students now call BGSU home. The inaugural Convocation ceremony was the Class of 2019’s official introduction to their academic journey. |
Earlier this month, 957 students graduated from BGSU. This ceremony marked 100 years of Commencement exercises. Throughout the weekend, students shared their favorite “Falcon Moments” with us. Victor Boschini ’79, chancellor of Texas Christian University and accomplished alumnus, addressed the attendees. |
BGSU University Arts programs are nationally recognized for student and faculty talent. The fall semester event calendar is now available. There are many opportunities to attend outstanding exhibitions, performances and signature events. |
Dr. Susana Peña, faculty in the College of Arts and Sciences, attended the prestigious HERS Bryn Mawr Summer Institute. This two-week residency focused on preparing women professionals for leadership roles in higher education. |
This month, with the start of the athletic season upon us, BGSU officially became a Nike sponsored university! The five-year contract will elevate the support our student-athletes receive while keeping them in traditional orange and brown. Whether on the road or on campus, come cheer on your Falcons! |
Homecoming is right around the corner! October 16-18 will be filled with events and activities for all students, alumni and friends. Registration is now open. |
In October 2012, I signed the American College & University Presidents’ Climate Commitment. Today, we are already seeing the impact it has had on our campus. Efforts like the Green Fund help us to achieve our goal of climate neutrality. BGSU is the first public institution in the state of Ohio to create a fund of this kind. Student participation in this fund reached an all-time high in the 2014-15 school year, averaging 83% over both semesters. |
Students, alumni and friends each have unique connections to BGSU. Bob ’72 and Mary Stanton have a BGSU story that reminds us why the Falcon Family is so special. Read about their story. |
The University’s bachelor’s degree programs in Engineering Technology and Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology now have the added distinction of being accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET, becoming the first ABET-accredited programs at BGSU. |
Just a few days ago, I delivered the annual State of the University address, which focused on taking BGSU to higher levels of achievements and recognition. Stay involved with this great University as we provide outstanding opportunities for all students. View the speech. |
Check out our newest spirit video. “When you’re a Falcon, you’re a Falcon for life. Falcons fly high. Falcons fly together. Falcons fly forever!” |
