Description: On a monthly basis, the Administrative Staff Council recognizes administrative staff members who are caught showing "The Spirit of BG" as defined by any of the core values of BGSU:

- Collaboration with each other and our partners
- Excellence in all they do
If you are a member of the University community (faculty, staff or student) you may nominate an employee for "The Spirit of BG Award". Complete a nomination form, providing a short summary (up to 250 words) as to why you feel this person is deserving of the award.

2. Virtual Focus Group for HHS Students of Color

Indicate your interest by filling out the consent form.
Description: We invite students of color enrolled in our Health and Human Services (HHS) programs at BGSU to participate in a focus group that aims to gain a clearer understanding of the challenges and opportunities in core science courses and within our HHS majors. The focus group interview will provide valuable insights that will help inform our efforts to create a more inclusive learning environment for all students. We assure you that all data collected as part of this study will remain confidential. You will receive a $25 Amazon gift card as an incentive for participating in the focus group.

Description: Throughout the year, the CWGE hosts research seminars to present the work that faculty, staff and grad students are doing at BGSU on feminism, gender, gender equity, queer theory and more. We would love to have you present your work in a seminar this upcoming school year (2024-2025).
To share more information, we typically host these seminars over lunch from noon to 1 p.m. Though we are flexible to structure it however you like, the general outline is that we do a short introduction, the presenter shares their research and we leave time for questions. The goal is to make the research that folks are doing on campus on these topics more accessible.

2. Take SOC 7130: Research Design this fall to learn hierarchical modeling
Date and Time: From 2:30-5:15 p.m. on Mondays during the 2024 Fall semester.
Location: Technology Building 247A
Description: This class is centrally focused on the application of predictive statistics, and especially regression and multilevel regression, in the context of nested and longitudinal data. After beginning the course with a review (Poisson regression, negative binomial regression, logistic regression, interactions, mediation, moderation, heteroskedasticity, multicollinearity, ANOVA and missing data), the course will move into the framework of hierarchical linear models (HLM) – better known as multilevel models. The course is centrally focused on nested data (including longitudinal data analysis). Fixed-effects, random-effects and mixed-effects models will be covered.
