4. Offenhauer Tunnel Repairs
Date and Time: From Monday, June 10 until Friday, Aug. 14.
Location: N. College Drive and Lot H
Planning, Construction and Campus Operations
Description: Beginning Monday, June 10 until Friday, Aug. 14 due to the Phase 1 Offenhauer Tunnel Top Replacement and Renovation Project, the entrance to North College Drive south of Merry Street will be blocked off. Lot H adjacent to the Psychology Building will be temporarily reduced in capacity and be accessible via a newly installed temporary Merry Street entrance. North College Drive will be accessible through Lot H for service and emergency vehicles. Additionally, there will be associated sidewalk closures with wayfinding signs set up to redirect pedestrian traffic. Please share this info with co-workers.

5. Planetarium Show: Double Feature - "Two Small Pieces of Glass: The Amazing Telescope" and "Chasing the Ghost Particle: From the South Pole to the Edge of the Universe"

Description: "Two small pieces of glass" tells the story of the invention of the telescope in the early 1600s and how astronomers have used telescopes from Galileo to the modern day. This full dome video show finishes by looking ahead to possible giant telescopes of the futures. "Two Small Pieces of Glass: The Amazing Telescope" will be followed by "Chasing the Ghost Particle: From the South Pole to the Edge of the Universe", which tells the story of a unique astronomical observatory, IceCube, located at the South Pole. See how IceCube was built and how it searches for elusive neutrinos. These low mass, hard to detect particles help astronomers unlock many of the mysteries of the cosmos.
Stargazing will follow the show if the skies are clear.

Description: Summer I Learn to Skate classes begin June 11 and 12 at the Slater Family Ice Arena!
Learn to Skate lessons offered to ages three through adult, including first-time and beginner skill levels to advanced skill levels.
Programming introduces the wide range of skating opportunities from figure skating and hockey to recreational skating.
Additional opportunities available based on skating skill and interest. Sport helmet required. Must be provided by the participant. There will also be a six-week summer session from July 9 – August 14.

1. Take SOC 7130: Research Design this fall and learn hierarchical modeling

Description: This class is centrally focused on the application of predictive statistics and especially regression and multilevel regression, in the context of nested and longitudinal data. After beginning the course with a review (e.g., reviewing Poisson regression, negative binomial regression, logistic regression, interactions, mediation, moderation, heteroskedasticity, multicollinearity, ANOVA and missing data), the course will move into the framework of hierarchical linear models (HLM) – better known as multilevel models. The course is centrally focused on nested data (including longitudinal data analysis). Fixed-effects, random-effects and mixed-effects models will be covered.

1. Call for The Center for Women and Gender Equity's Research Seminar participants
Description: Throughout the year, the CWGE hosts research seminars to present the work that faculty, staff and grad students are doing at BGSU on feminism, gender, gender equity, queer theory and more and we'd love to have you present your work in a seminar this upcoming school year, 2024-25.
To share more information, we typically host these seminars over lunch from noon to 1 p.m. Though we are flexible to structure it however you like, the general outline is that we do a short introduction, the presenter shares their research and we leave time for questions. The goal is to make the research that folks are doing on campus on these topics more accessible.

Preview the new EBSCO interface.
Description: The EBSCOhost research database platform and its entire suite of databases will transition to a new interface beginning June 17, 2024. While we know this is mid-semester change for summer courses, we appreciate your patience as there is rarely downtime from working with students, faculty, staff and other library users. Many of your favorite features are still available, along with a cleaner interface and new tools.
