Location: Jerome Library, Pallister Conference Room
Learn more about the Center for Women and Gender Equity.
Description: Join the Center for Women and Gender Equity as we celebrate International Women’s Day and International Sex Workers’ Rights Day at our event and art show, All Work and No Pay: The Devaluation of Care Work and Sex Work.
This program considers the breadth of care work done primarily by women, including invisible labor, emotional work, sex work and other forms of affective labor in relationships and professional lives. The Center is putting on an art show scaffolded with academic research, in which participants reflect on their care labor and what it means to them.
Celebrate the talented members of the BGSU community and learn more about the intersections of invisible labor and sex work! By the way, if you’re interested in submitting art or presenting research around these topics, there is still time to submit your work. Artistic submissions should be under seven minutes if time is needed to present or perform it and academic submissions should be under 15 minutes. Having art presented anonymously is also an option. You can fill out the proposal form or send in submissions to cwge@bgsu.edu by March 6.
