Greetings from the Schmidthorst College of Business!
The Allen W. and Carol M. Schmidthorst College of Business welcomes students, faculty, staff, and alumni to this academic year!
This is a very exciting time for our college! In July, we received the single largest academic gift in the University’s nearly 110-year history to name the college. In addition, on Aug. 24, we opened our new home for business education, the Robert W. and Patricia A. Maurer Center, and said farewell to the Business Administration Building.
We will virtually celebrate Schmidthorst College of Business Week Sept. 10-12 with several events. Links are attached below so you can watch the livestreams.
This year began unlike any other as we moved to the Maurer Center and adapted our operations for COVID-19. In this issue of Biz News, we provide insights on these adjustments. We welcomed several new staff members and remembered our friend, Brian Sokol, associate director of the Paul J Hooker Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership.
We look forward to another successful academic year and hope to see you virtually at one of our Schmidthorst College of Business Week events!
Warm Regards,
Ray Braun '80
Dean
