Parker Hannifin Provided Accounting Student Great Learning Opportunities through Internships

For a second summer I interned at Parker Hannifin, a Fortune 500 company that specializes in motion and control technologies. I have enjoyed the endless learning and growth opportunities Parker Hannifin has provided me.

This summer I worked at one of the divisions located near my hometown in Ravenna, Ohio. The company has multiple facilities located in many states, so it can be very convenient to work for them regardless of where an individual resides.

My internship this summer involved working in the accounts receivable department. It was a bit challenging for me because I had worked in the accounts payable department the previous summer and had to learn a new concentration within the accounting department at Parker. I am now very thankful the company pushed me to learn and try something new because I now have knowledge in both fields.

During my time in the accounts receivable department at Parker, I learned how to receive in payments from our customers, collect on outstanding invoices/bills, communicate with customers on payment differences, and connect with other departments and other Parker divisions. My favorite part about the internship was getting to know so many people at a personal and professional level and becoming good friends with them.

Parker Hannifin is a great company to work for and I am very glad that I have had the opportunity to work for them two summers in a row.
