Senior earns 3rd place in Gartner National Sales Competition
Collin Newton’s successful sales skills continue to earn him recognition among the top talent in the country. In the inaugural Gartner National Sales Competition, the BGSU senior captured 3rd place out of 130 competitors nationwide. Newton first finished in the top ten in Gartner’s over-the-phone role play competition which earned him a trip to Ft. Myers, FL, March 21-23, for the face-to-face competition. Gartner is the world's leading information technology and advisory company.
Newton was coached by BGSU marketing department faculty members Mr. Mearl Sutton, pictured with Newton after the Gartner competition, along with BGSU sales coach Dr. Greg Rich.
Besides this latest competition, Newton has “sold” his way to success placing 3rd out of 184 competitors in the American Marketing Association National Sales Competition, the highest finish in BGSU history. Newton’s 2nd place finish in the 2017 BGSU Sales Competition has earned him an automatic berth in the National Collegiate Sales Competition set for April 3-6 at Kennesaw State University in Atlanta, Georgia, where the nation’s most elite sales students in the U.S. will compete.
Collin is dual specializing in sales and services marketing and business analytics & intelligence and graduates in May.
