Top Seniors Recognized by Departments for Achievements

Departments nominated their top senior graduating in 2016 for the College of Business Karl E. Vogt Outstanding Senior Award. Several of the departments hosted senior recognition events in order to honor their top graduating seniors for Going Beyond Business As Usual!

The following students were nominated for the College’s Karl Vogt Award by their departments according to their specializations:

Department of Management

Shannon Jordan
Shannon Jordan - Supply Chain Management

  • Internships: Demand Planning Intern at Bendix, Global Supply Chain intern at Owens Corning, Marketing and Logistics Intern for the American Red Cross
  • Student Organizations and Involvement: Senior Vice President and Brotherhood Chair for Delta Sigma Pi, Vice President of Operations for Women in Business Leadership, Dean’s Advisory Council, Chapman Learning Community, and College of Business Student Ambassador

Zachary Mayberry - International Business and Supply Chain Management

Kaitlynn Brewer – Management, a focus in human resources

  • Internships: HR intern for Ventra Sandusky and HR Intern at Kalahari Resorts
  • Student Organizations and Involvement: member of Women in Business Leadership and volunteers at the United Church of Christ
  • Honors and Awards: Dean’s List

Department of Marketing

Andrew LudwigAndrew Ludwig – Sales and Services Marketing

  • Internships: Technical Sales intern at Eaton and Marketing and Sales intern for Bendix
  • Student Organizations and Involvement: Vice President and President of the American Marketing Association and a College of Business Student Ambassador
  • Honors and Awards: Placed 1st in the 2014 BGSU Sales Competition, placed 14th out of 134 sales students at the 2015 National Collegiate Sales Competition, awarded the 2015 Bowling Green State University Board of Trustees Leadership Scholarship, and is on the Dean’s List.

Ben KisterBen Kister – Marketing

  • Internships: E-commerce Product Management Intern for Big Lots, Recruiter for Young Entrepreneurs Across America, Branch Manager Intern for Student Painters, Sales and Promotions Intern for Habitat for Humanity, and Operations Intern for BGSU’s Men’s Soccer team.
  • Student Organizations and Involvement: Executive Vice President of the American Marketing Association
  • Honors and Awards: Dean’s List

Finance Department

Mark CooperMark Cooper – Finance

  • Activities: Captain of BGSU’s Varsity Hockey team for 2 years, member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), Guest coached for BGSU’s Youth Hockey Team, and a member of Chi Alpha Sigma
  • Honors and Awards: Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) Offensive Player, Vitos Pizza Player of the week, WCHA Scholar Athlete, and selected to the WCHA All-Academic team.

Kory BrownKory Brown was also recognized at the Finance Department Awards program. Brown, specializing in finance, was presented the Top Graduating Senior Award.

  • Activities: Captain of BGSU Varsity Baseball team for two years, served as mentor to freshmen baseball players, member of Chi Alpha Sigma - the National College Athlete Honor Society
  • Honors and Awards: 2015 BGSU Junior Scholar-Athlete of the Year, 2014 Muskegon Community College Student-Athlete of the Year, National Junior College Athletic Association Academic All-American, Dean’s List
