Presentations, Tutorials, and Arts-Based Projects
Presentations
Presentations are speech or talk in which you communicate a topic to an audience. The purpose could be to inform, persuade, motivate, or inspire your audience.
You may choose from 3 presentation types:
Live Presentation- presented in real-time to an audience over Zoom. Individual live presentations should be approximately 15 minutes long and collaborative live presentations should be 20 minutes long.
Pre-Recorded Presentation- recorded in advance for an audience. Both Individual and Collaborative Pre-Recorded Presentations should follow the following formats: 5-Minute Pre-Recorded Presentation. Think of short, informational presentations like Vox, Buzzfeed, or NowThis style videos. 5-Minute Example 1, Example 2, Example 3 15-Minute Pre-Recorded Presentation. Poster Presentation- communicates your topic using a poster and a brief explanation (approximately 2 minutes of audio or 250 words text.) Posters may be individual or collaborative. Poster Example. Poster Design Tips.
Tutorials
Tutorials are designed to help your audience understand how to solve a problem or complete an activity/ task. Tutorials may be individual or collaborative.
You may choose from 2 tutorial types:
Pre-recorded Tutorial Video- the tutorial should take approximately 15 minutes for the audience to complete. Pre-recorded Video Tutorial Example

Arts-based Projects
Arts-based projects may be individual or collaborative. All art forms will be considered including but not limited to: Painting, drawing, collage, scrapbooking, film, music, dance, creating a board game, comics, poetry, clothing design, and many other possibilities.
A short Artist’s Statement should accompany your arts-based submission. An artist statement is a short paragraph (approximately 250 words) that describes what you made and why you made it. It’s a stand-in for you, the artist, talking to someone about your work in a way that adds to their experience of that work. Learn more about Arts-based projects. Arts-based Project Example 1.
