FERPA
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that gives students in higher education various rights with respect to their educational records. Rights afforded to students under FERPA include the right to inspect and review educational records, the right to request amendment of records believed to be inaccurate or misleading, and the right to prevent disclosure of information from educational records without prior consent, subject to some specific exceptions.
More information about FERPA is available on the office of Registration and Records website.
