External Projects (non-grant funded)
BGSU is proud to have joined together with other colleges and universities across Ohio to support the Ohio IP Promise. Under the leadership of the Lieutenant Governor and the Inter-University Council of Ohio, Ohio’s public universities have come together to establish a best-in-class process licensing our institutions’ intellectual property.
The Ohio IP Promise helps ensure that Ohio’s public universities are competitive and aligned when it comes to the transfer of our discoveries to the marketplace and benefits all stakeholders in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. The IP Promise creates a climate where discovery can thrive through partnerships among universities, researchers, entrepreneurs, investors and industry. With this improved collaboration, high-impact discoveries at BGSU will go to market more quickly, boosting Ohio’s economy and improving its residents’ lives with new products and services. BGSU is committed to being flexible, transparent, simple, clear, easy and fast. By publishing detailed processes, standard templates and key terms on our websites, we provide a transparent view into our process.
BGSU is a public university dedicated to creating public good and strives to advance its impact through engagement by participating in private and public partnerships that support research and creative activities, and enhance the vitality of the BGSU community. The mission of the Office of Technology Transfer & Services (OTTS) is to promote commercialization of technologies arising from BGSU research and services. We understand that every collaboration with an external entity is unique and relationships can be tailor-made to fit particular circumstances. OTTS is a single point of entry for licensing BGSU technologies and to engage with BGSU for research and technical service, collaborative partnerships, and other engagement opportunities.
Our team is here to make engaging with BGSU as transparent and easy as possible:
