Bowling Green State University prioritizes a community of care and belonging. The University strives to foster a shared responsibility for maintaining and promoting an environment of civil discourse and mutual respect and to ensure that campus community members feel valued.
Campus Climate Concern Defined
Campus climate concerns can include actions that impact anyone in the community based on their identity (such as race, color, religion, ethnicity, national origin, sex, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression).
The University’s Response to Campus Climate Concerns
The University responds with resources and support when a campus climate concern arises that negatively impacts community members.
As a public university, we are committed to the freedom of expression and the rights protected by the First Amendment and in accordance with BGSU’s Freedom of Expression Policy and Ohio Public Policy on Principles of Free Speech. The University’s response to campus climate concerns is not intended to prohibit or discourage the free exchange of ideas in the campus community or otherwise prohibit protected speech.

Community of Care
A Community of Care requires campus-wide responsibility for acting on situations that can have significant impact on individuals and the campus community. As a public university for the public good, Bowling Green State University prioritizes community well-being and belonging to ensure that Falcons do not struggle alone.
BGSU Police
Provides the campus with 24-hour police protection by a fully certified staff of police officers, detectives, and dispatchers.
