Leadership Council
The Leadership Council is comprised of successful alumni and friends who advise the Dean on strategic planning, curricula, student mentorship, internships and co-ops, job placement, faculty engagement with industry, and alumni affairs. The Council meets two times per year (Fall and Spring) and committee work occurs between meetings. Meetings typically include a dinner followed by a six hour meeting the next day. Members are expected to attend meetings, actively serve on committees, and provide financial support to the College by becoming a member of the Dean’s Circle (minimum contribution of $1,000 per year) and participate in University Capital Campaigns. See the highly successful business leaders who have already made the commitment to serve on the Leadership Council.
Prospective members are nominated by the Nominating and Governance Committee of the Leadership Council and recommended by the Dean for appointment by the Vice President of University Advancement. In considering prospective members, the Nominating and Governance Committee seeks senior executives with a track record of successfully leading in an organization. If you are interested in being considered for nomination to the Leadership Council and influencing the future of the Schmidthorst College of Business, please send your resume and a 500 word statement of interest to Dean Jennifer Percival at jpercival@bgsu.edu
