After you're admitted as a transfer student
Congratulations! We’re so glad you found a new home as a Falcon. You have a few more things to check off your list before you begin classes.
We’ll remind you if you have any requirements – like mandatory advising appointments – to complete before you start classes. You also can view incomplete requirements on myBGSU (MyBGSU → Student Center → Action Items). Don’t hesitate to give the transfer team a call if you have any questions.
You are required to meet with an academic advisor before scheduling classes for the upcoming semester. We will send you a text and email when it’s time to make your appointment.
Your advisor will help you:
- Review your official transfer credit evaluation.
The Office of Transfer Credit Evaluation conducts a comprehensive review of your previous coursework within 5 to 7 business days after you’ve completed all of your admission requirements. It will provide you with an official assessment of how your credits will transfer to BGSU.
- Register for classes.
Your academic advisor will help you with course selection and let you know many credit hours you need to complete your degree.
You must file a FAFSA if you would like to be considered for financial aid.
If you are currently taking classes at another college or university, you are required to send your final transcript before beginning classes at BGSU.
BGSU prefers electronic submission from institutions that subscribe to a secure submission service. Transcripts are not accepted from students.
Institutions can also mail official paper transcripts to:
