The fast track to healthcare career growth

Expand your academic credentials with a curriculum that builds on your healthcare knowledge and grows your professional expertise.

The primary goal of the allied health bachelor's program is to provide a smooth pathway for students who have completed their associate degrees in allied health disciplines to earn their Bachelor of Science degrees. Online, eight-week-long courses will strengthen your management and leadership skills and enhance your critical thinking and communication skills.

Individuals with associate degrees in accredited allied health programs with the appropriate prerequisites will be able to transfer to Bowling Green State University and complete the bachelor’s in allied health program in as little as one year.

Students must have a minimum of 40 hours of upper-level courses (i.e., courses numbered 3000 and above). Courses that transfer as the equivalent of any required general education or core may be applied to the baccalaureate degree. Only courses in which the student obtained a grade of "C" or higher will be transferable.

Career - what can you do with an allied health degree?

Many healthcare careers currently require a bachelor’s degree or will require one soon. Registered nurses in states like New York and others are required to earn a bachelor's degree within 10 years of receiving their associate’s degree.

With a Bachelor of Science in allied health degree, dental hygienists can look for promotions to clinical dental roles, corporate, public health or dental hygiene education roles. Even without further study, the BGSU bachelor’s in allied health will prove your learning ability and demonstrate your ability to lead, communicate and solve problems.

Having a bachelor’s degree also opens the doors to the master’s level courses required for such careers as a certified registered nurse anesthetist, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant.
