Film Studies

The BGSU bachelor’s degree film program is one of the most student-centered film programs in the country. You can major in film production or film studies.

BGSU film studies majors gain an understanding of film history and develop expertise in analyzing films, historical and contemporary film cultures, and  film and media industries. You will learn to be an informed viewer and accomplished communicator.

Our graduates help define what entertainment will look like in the future. They are prepared to begin careers in journalism, festival organization, film acquisition and distribution and film producing. After further study, they can pursue careers in higher education and entertainment law.

The film studies program is available as a minor and is a good option if you’re interested in media, culture and advertising.
