BGSU Fine Arts Center to open 'Destroy the Gap' exhibition on May 12

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Bowling Green State University will open "Destroy the Gap" – an exhibition engaging in disability discourse through aesthetics – at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 12, in the Dorothy Uber Bryan Gallery of the BGSU Fine Arts Center.

"Destroy the Gap" features a multitude of mediums from video to fashion to fiber and invites people to explore the topics of accessibility, disability justice, belonging and inclusivity while highlighting the experiences of those living with disabilities. All exhibitors identify as disabled, care workers or allies and will showcase artworks displaying disability justice, lived experiences, radical futures and beloved community.

The exhibit includes artist statements and artwork information in large-print and braille variations and is also wheelchair/mobility-aid accessible.

"Destroy the Gap" runs through Sunday, June 4, and is free and open to the public. Parking is free daily after 6 p.m. and on weekends in Lot N near the BGSU Fine Arts Center.
