Bowling Green State University to host second-annual Ohio Anti-Hazing Summit

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- In its commitment to leading hazing prevention and education across the state and nation, Bowling Green State University will host the second-annual Ohio Anti-Hazing Summit on Aug. 1, 2023, in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union.

The summit will feature BGSU President Rodney K. Rogers, state leaders, national experts and speakers, including Shari and Cory Foltz, parents of BGSU student Stone Foltz who died tragically following an off-campus event that was later determined to be hazing in 2021.

The event will welcome K-12 and college professionals from around the state, including practitioners for fraternities, sororities, student groups and clubs, athletic coaches, volunteers, advisors and university conduct staff. This free summit will focus on prevention education, innovative resources, best practices and strategies to eliminate hazing that has plagued college campuses and K-12 school systems nationwide.

Last year, BGSU welcomed nearly 200 education professionals and volunteers for the first-of-its-kind summit in the state of Ohio to the daylong event to hear from national experts and state and education leaders on hazing prevention.
