BGSU Student Health Insurance Program
The deadline to waive or enroll in the student health insurance requirement is in:
Students are required to be covered by health insurance that provides coverage for inpatient and outpatient medical and mental health in Northwest Ohio while attending BGSU. The University provides student health insurance through United HealthCare Student Resources.

Domestic and International Student Waive/Enroll Health Insurance Requirements
Domestic students taking eight (8) or more credit hours, per semester, on the main Bowling Green, Ohio campus, are required to enroll in the BGSU student health insurance plan, unless they have an alternative insurance plan that meets BGSU minimum essential coverage requirements.
All International students, regardless of credit hours, taking classes at the Bowling Green or Firelands campus are required to enroll in the BGSU student health insurance plan, unless they have an alternative insurance plan that meets BGSU minimum essential coverage requirements.

*Students who only enroll in the fall health insurance plan will be required to waive/enroll the spring/summer plan during the academic year.
Voluntary Dental Insurance
Domestic and International students who are enrolled in the BGSU student health insurance plan have the option to enroll in the United Healthcare Student Resources dental insurance plan.

- Annual Plan | Covered for 12 months | Aug. 15, 2024-Aug. 14, 2025 | $2409
- Fall-Only Plan | Covered for 4.5 months | Aug. 15-Dec. 31, 2024 | $932
- Spring/Summer Plan | Covered for 7.5 months | Jan. 1-Aug. 14, 2025 | $1477
- Spring-Only Plan | Covered for 5 months | Jan. 1-May 31, 2025 | $1008
