Access BG Access BG will initiate a new partnership between Libbey High School in the Toledo Public School District and BGSU’s Chapman
Learning Community and Partner’s in Context and Community where students from all three programs will work together to improve
access to arts as well as higher education for urban youth.

Adelante - BGSU Latino Community Media Project Adelante, The Latino Resource Center and BGSU students will produce a multi-platform audio-visual educational packet to disseminate
information about providing culturally relevant/proficient social services for low-income Latinos in NW Ohio; educating audiences
about Latino culture in NW Ohio will assist us in securing public support to fund minority services.

Arts Enterprise for New Orleans Arts Enterprise for New Orleans is a service learning project for BGSU students and faculty that will serve New Orleans Outreach
(NOO), a non-profit organization that works with volunteer and community resources to improve education in the city’s school
system.

Community Action for Promoting Conservation Awareness in Elementary Education BGSU, The Toledo Zoo, and Birmingham Elementary join in a partnership for enhancing students’ awareness of current environmental
problems causing extinction of plant and animal species in northwest Ohio. Elementary level students will learn about conservation biology through active participation in the process of saving an
endangered butterfly species.

Encouraging Young Adult Leadership The goal of our project is to encourage young adults, ages of 21 to 40, to have an interest in becoming local leaders in the
community. Young adults will be invited to attend an evening function that will introduce them to leadership roles with an
emphasis on not-for-profit board activities

Expect Respect Council: "There is No Excuse for Abuse." The Expect Respect Council creates community awareness in North Central Ohio about dating violence through the performance
of plays for teen and young adult audiences. The council is composed of high school students, college theater students, and domestic violence professionals who work together

Interfaith Dialogue as a Vehicle for Understanding and Peace Interfaith Dialogue is a discussion series conducted by the MultiFaith Council of NW Ohio and Chapman Community faculty to
find peaceful solutions to misunderstandings and hostilities among faith traditions. Discussion series seek dialogue rather than debate.

Journalism PACT-Partners in Active Citizenship Today BGSU journalism faculty and students will work with peers at Rogers High School. BGSU students will help others and see the
challenges of American urban education firsthand. Contact with community media will give minority students the opportunity
to see the possibility to redefine the images of their communities through journalism.

Latino Relationships: Sexuality , Health and Quality of Life This research project aims to understand relationship issues that contribute to and hinder relational and sexual health for
Latinos in the Toledo area through the study of cultural and social factors that influence Latinos’ romantic relationships.
The goal is the development of effective community health programming focused on healthy relationships.

Sculpture in the Garden The Simpson Garden Park Sculpture Garden harnesses the creative power of Bowling Green State University Art School faculty
and staff while providing a public venue where citizens can enrich their lives and broaden their horizons.

Singing to the Tune of Early Literacy This project educates parents about the importance of building early literacy skills in preschoolers, and models fun ways
to build skills at home through programs that incorporate music, story reading and book-making activities for parents and
children. Programs are open to the public, specifically targeting low-income Head Start families.

Wood County Gift Exchange The purpose of this project is to provide equipment, materials, and supplies to support children whose divorced parents are
in parenting crisis by providing safe, secure environment to transfer children from one parent to another for visitations
or for parents to meet their children for court-ordered supervised visitations

Youth Leadership Advocates: Building Adult Capacity to Support Engaged Youth Representatives from the Coalition for Youth Enrichment and BGSU will convene youth service providers to develop capacity
in youth leadership development. Partners apply a service-learning approach to youth leadership development to provide a week-long CAPA City Youth Leadership
Conference and follow-up seminar with BGSU faculty, staff, and students.
