Although complete information on the Support Grant Program is available in the Request For Proposal on the Application Process page, this page will provide prospective grantees some of the general information:

OVERVIEW OF THE GRANT

The goal of the PCA/CITE Partnership Support Grant Program is to build partnerships between the community and the University to enhance equal educational opportunity, economic development, health, and wellness, cultural awareness, and/or democratic participation in community life, for areas including, but not limited to Northwest Ohio by offering grants to projects developed by a team of University and community partners.  Partnership Support Grants are allocated to campus/community projects congruent with the mission and objectives of PCA and CITE and that meet all grant program goals and objectives. PCA/CITE are interested in supporting new or continuing programs that will have a lasting impact on the community and partners involved.

The Partnership Support Grant Program is highly competitive with a maximum allocation of $5,000 per project. Within the Program, at least two sub grants are awarded annually for projects that support 1) service-learning collaborations, and 2) community development in East Toledo.

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE GRANT PROGRAM

  • Develop partnerships between members of the University and the broader community based on reciprocity, co-equal participation and mutual benefit.
  • Combine university and community knowledge, interests, and resources to address problems, issues, needs, and themes rooted in the community but significant to both groups.
  • Create committed partnerships of multiple constituencies that are self-sustaining and enduring.
  • Meet needs of traditionally underserved populations and address issues of access and inclusion.
  • Encourage and support research that has value both within and outside of academia.
  • Increase the broader community’s access to university resources.
  • Promote curricular changes on campus to explicitly include the needs and interests of external constituencies.
  • Increase applications for external funding for partnership activities.
  • Support service-learning initiatives in the P-16 (pre-school through college/university) sector and educational reform, civic engagement, and community development in East Toledo via at least two grant awards to projects addressing these issues.
