The flexible and professional MBA program is recognized as a leader in Ohio and the nation for providing students with the credentials needed for success in a global marketplace

Consistently acknowledged for its flexibility and quality academic offerings, the Bowling Green State University Online MBA program has once again been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as among the very best in Ohio and the nation for 2024.

The BGSU Online MBA program, based in the Allen W. and Carol M. Schmidthorst College of Business, soared in this year's rankings to No. 4 among Ohio public universities and No. 120 in the nation, scoring in the top 35% of programs nationally.

New for 2024, BGSU online graduate business programs also rank No. 1 overall in the nation for student engagement and the Online MBA program itself is second in the state for that category. That metric examines the extent to which an online degree program enables students to effectively interact with instructors and classmates as they would in an on-campus environment. Additionally, the University's collective master's degree offerings in business rank second best in Ohio and No. 77 in the nation, according to U.S News and World Report.

The AACSB-accredited BGSU Online MBA program equips students with comprehensive qualifications, skills and credentials needed to excel in an ever-evolving global marketplace.

Through 100% online coursework, students learn from world-class BGSU faculty members – the same full-time, tenure-track and research-active faculty members who teach in-person courses at BGSU – who provide an education of value that supports student success.

The versatile and professional online MBA program provides students a path to their MBA in as few as 12 months and includes concentrations in supply chain management, accounting, marketing and finance.

“We are pleased that U.S. News and World Report has confirmed what we’ve long known - working professionals who want to advance their careers and academic paths thrive with the BGSU Online MBA program,” said Schmidthorst College of Business Dean Dr. Jennifer Percival. “A Bowling Green State University business degree empowers students to bolster their careers and, in turn, their industries and communities for the public good.”

One such working professional who obtained his MBA through BGSU Online is Jeffrey Bivens, who enrolled in the Online MBA program to further develop his business acumen after already building a successful career as a lean manufacturing manager.

Bivens, who grew up in northeastern Ohio and lives in Bloomington, Illinois, enrolled in the University’s flexible Online MBA program in 2021.

“I’m always asking myself what I can do to continue to grow and expand my career,” Bivens said. “I wanted to understand business at a 10,000-foot level and going through the BGSU Online MBA program provided me with a solid understanding of how all the facets of a business work together.”

BGSU alumnus Jeffery Bivens '23 chose the BGSU Online MBA program to further develop his business acumen.

Following production management roles at Ford Motor Company, Lear Corporation and Anheuser-Busch, Bivens is now a group leader at Rivian Automotive, Inc., an electric vehicle manufacturer, in charge of the performance and operations of the company’s rechargeable battery manufacturing facility.

Bivens plans to continue his education at BGSU by applying to the organization development and change doctorate program.

Connie Disbro, assistant director of the BGSU Online MBA Program, said the program provides an ideal balance of management, accounting, marketing, supply chain management and strategy skills that are beneficial to numerous career journeys.

“It can help someone achieve a promotion, salary increase or even assist with a change in careers,” Disbro said. “It’s a very versatile degree that has the potential to open a lot of doors.”

In addition to the recent U.S. News and World Report ranking, the BGSU Online MBA program is also ranked No. 1 in Ohio and No. 33 nationally by Poets&Quants, which determines its scores based on the University’s commitment to rigorous academic standards, student experience and employment outcomes.
