In Brief: January 9
BG Leadership Academy greets new cohort
Congratulations to the incoming cohort of the Bowling Green Leadership Academy. The 16-member group of faculty and staff will spend the next five months developing their skills and applying them to helping the University achieve its strategic goals.
Hosted by the Office of Human Resources, the annual academy is designed to build institutional as well as personal and professional strength. Members use their expanded skills and institutional knowledge to find solutions and illuminate situations while forging bonds and collaborations across campus areas and constituencies.
City to hold MLK tribute Jan. 13
Bowling Green Mayor Richard Edwards and the city’s Human Relations Commission invite the BGSU community to participate in the 28th annual Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Friday, January 13, beginning at 1:30 p.m. at the Wood County District Public Library.
This year’s featured speaker will be Arto Woodley on the topic "Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or Community?" Musical selections will be presented by the BGHS Madrigals and guest vocalists Sheila, Angelo and Carla Brown.
The event is held to honor the progress that has been made in promoting cultural diversity, but also to remind us that much remains to be done in the implementation of the principles and teachings advocated by Dr. King.
