Annual lecture to examine Nixon, Kissinger’s Soviet Union policymaking
The Department of History will present “A Grain of SALT: Arms Control, the Soviet Threat, and the War on the CIA,” at 4 p.m. March 29 in 201 Bowen-Thompson Student Union.
Dr. Richard H. Immerman is professor of history, Edward Buthusiem Distinguished Faculty Fellow and Marvin Wachman Director of the Center for the Study of Force and Diplomacy at Temple University. At this free lecture, he will discuss the use and abuse of intelligence in Nixon and Kissinger’s policymaking toward the Soviet Union.
The annual Gary R. Hess Lecture in Policy History at BGSU is held at the initiative of Hess’s former students to recognize his contributions to the profession and the university during his 45 years of service from 1964 to 2009. Additional funding to support the event has been provided by the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Cultural and Critical Studies and the Department of Political Science.
