‘Mary Poppins’ brings magic to BGSU Firelands stage
Mary Poppins is ready to fly over the rooftops of London and onto the McBride Auditorium stage at BGSU Firelands for eight performances, Sept. 10-20. The family musical features the delightful songs from the Disney film, including “A Spoonful of Sugar” and “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.”
Winner of 44 major theatre awards from around the globe, “Mary Poppins” has captivated audiences for generations, and now her enchanting tale is here to delight theatregoers of all ages. Under the direction of Caryl Crane Youth Theatre Director Brian Marshall, and showcasing a cast of 60 from 17 area schools, “Mary Poppins” will transport northern Ohio families across the Atlantic to Cherry Tree Lane, where the Banks family is about to be introduced to a magical nanny who is “practically perfect in every way.”
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 10, 11, 17 and 18, and at 2 p.m. Sept. 12, 13, 19 and 20 in the McBride Auditorium. Ticket prices range from $5, for a special preview performance on Sept. 10, to $14. Group rates are available for parties of 10 or more. Christmas holiday schedule announced
There will be a change to this year's Christmas holiday schedule. The University will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 24 (a floating holiday), and Friday, Dec. 25 (Christmas).
Normal business operations will resume on Monday, Dec. 28.
