Get support to become a more Healthy U

BGSU faculty and staff are invited to join the new Healthy U program, designed to promote healthy living and weight management. The deadline to register is Aug. 19.

Led by Drs. Robin Tucker-Falconer and Mary-Jon Ludy, food and nutrition faculty in the public and allied health department, the group program helps participants make the shift toward eating well, being active and having more energy.

Sponsored by BGSU WellAware, the 16-week program includes comprehensive pre- and post-testing, 30-minute group sessions every other week (three times available), optional one-on-one dietary counseling and fitness coaching sessions, and guidance to make long-term changes. Participants may also take the opportunity to take part in a weight-loss research study if they choose.

The cost is $50 per semester, with $20 refunded for attending five of the seven meetings. The program is also open to spouses and same-sex domestic partners.

Register online at www.bgsu.edu/wellaware or in person at the Student Recreation Center Welcome Desk.
