BGSU honored with advertising awards
The University brought home silvers and a bronze Feb. 26 in the American Advertising Federation of Toledo’s Addy Awards.
The BGSU Magazine won silver in Publication Design (magazine or book). Produced by the Office of Marketing and Communications, the magazine is edited by Terri Carroll; its creative director is Jeff Artz, photography director Craig Bell and photographer Brad Phalin.
A video produced by Madhouse (an alumni-owned business) for BGSU’s Student Orientation and Registration also took silver in Audio/Video Sales Presentation. Fred Connor, senior marketing director; Andrea Brock, marketing communications specialist; and Amy West, communications manager, all contributed.
Earning a bronze award was the revamped BGSU website, in the Websites Consumer division. Marketing and Communication’s Connor, Beth Detwiler, Robb Nardecchia and Kayleigh Williams were involved, along with ITS’s Clint LaForest, Chris Wammes, Sheri Kellogg, and CIO John Ellinger, with assistance from Madhouse.
In the Student Awards category, a silver award was won in the Publication Design category by the 2015 SWEAT magazine from an annual art workshop run by graphic design faculty Amy Fidler and Jenn Stucker. Students in the summer workshop produced the publication.
