BGSU to offer SKYWARN training
BGSU faculty and staff interested in severe weather spotting can attend the SKYWARN Severe Weather Spotter’s Training webinar session being held at 6:30 p.m. March 9 in 115 Olscamp. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m.
SKYWARN is a volunteer program with nearly 290,000 trained severe weather spotters. These volunteers provide timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Although spotters provide essential information for all types of weather hazards, the main responsibility is to identify and describe severe local storms. NWS encourages anyone with an interest in public service to join the SKYWARN program.
