Obituaries

Michael Mott, 88, professor emeritus, poet, novelist, and biographer at Bowling Green University, died Oct. 11 in Atlanta. Known for his rigorous devotion to the craft of poetry, he taught fiction and poetry classes and workshops at the University from 1980-91. He instilled in his students his own writing advice: not to wake readers from the written dream with unclear writing. Mott retired from BGSU and moved to Williamsburg, Virginia, where he married Emma Lou Powers, and continued to write and publish.

All employees are expected to report to work unless the University issues a delay, cancellation or closing. Employees should use their own judgment about whether they can safely travel to campus.
