Autism Summit to feature latest in research, practice
The 15th annual Northwest Ohio Autism Summit takes place Friday (June 10) in the Lenhart Grand Ballroom at the Bowen-Thompson Student Union. About 200 teachers, professionals, parents and other caregivers of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder will gather for a day of talks and information sharing.
Hosted by the College of Education and Human Development and the Ohio Center for Autism and Low Incidence (OCALI), the annual conference features keynote speaker Dr. Brenda Smith Myles, an award-winning consultant with OCALI and the Ziggurat Group. Myles is a nationally known applied researcher and author who has served on numerous high-level professional committees and advisory groups.
BGSU faculty are among the 18 presenters who will offer sessions on such topics as “Evidence-Based Practices for Young Children with ASD: Bringing Research to Real Life,” and “Parent- Educator Partnerships: Getting the Right Information to the Right People at the Right Time.”
