In Brief: June 16
Take the ‘Strive for Five’ wellness challenge
BGSU’s annual Strive for FIVE wellness challenge is back. Make this a memorable summer with the free, fun and supportive program that focuses on three basic steps to improving your health and happiness.
Strive for Five is a six-week challenge that runs June 27-Aug. 7 and provides accountability, guidance and encouragement to eat well, move more and stress less. June 24 is the deadline to sign up for the popular nutrition and physical activity challenge.
The goals are to eat five or more servings of fruits and vegetables each day, spend 30 minutes or more exercising five days a week, and engage in five minutes or more a day of stress-relieving activities. Participants earn points by achieving or exceeding these goals weekly, and will be entered into drawings for great raffle prizes for meeting the minimum goals. At the end of six weeks, the top two teams and top three individuals will receive special rewards.
Sponsored by BGSU WellAware, Strive for Five is a self-guided program, but participants have opportunities to participate in weekly activities that provide information and tips on the three aspects of wellness.
Faculty and staff can register as an individual or as part of a team. There is no limit on the number of teammates; however, each team member is accountable to report his or her own points each week.
Those interested can register online.
